Prayers/positive thoughts needed

I know it's been forever since I updated, and I wish I had some happier news to report.

Monday afternoon Dad was rushed to the ER with signs of a heart attack. We still don't know exactly what happened, but from what we have been able to gather (holy cow, these docs do NOT understand the meaning of keeping the family updated) he did have something going on with his heart. His blood pressure dropped to nothing a few times while in the e.r.

He is still in ICU at logan regional but he is doing better. We have some more tests to run today then hopefully we will know more. I'll keep you updated.

I don't know what he is saying, but I think it might be along the lines of: "I'm going to regret this tomorrow!" Click here

Happy Mental Health Day!

Just because someone doesn't love you the way you want them to, doesn't mean they don't love you with all they have. Ralph and Edna were both patients in a mental hospital. One day while they were walking past the hospital swimming pool. Ralph suddenly jumped into the deep end. He sank to the bottom of the pool and stayed there.

Edna promptly jumped in to save him. She swam to the bottom and pulled him out. When the Head Nurse Director became aware of Edna's heroic act she immediately ordered her to be discharged from the hospital, as she now considered her to be mentally stable.

When she went to tell Edna the news she said, 'Edna, I have good news and bad news. The good news is you're being discharged, since you were able to rationally respond to a crisis by jumping in and saving the life of the person you love. I have concluded that your act displays sound mindedness. The bad news is, Ralph hung himself in the bathroom with his bathrobe belt right after you saved him. I am so sorry, but he's dead.'

Edna replied, 'He didn't hang himself, I put him there to dry. How soon can I go home?'

Happy Mental Health Day!

You can do your bit by remembering to send this email to all of your unstable friends.

I just did!

Life lesson # 1289723 CATS ARE NOT OUR FRIENDS!!

Ok, if any of you EVER gets a cat bite, do NOT wait to see a doctor. Nasty blood infections happen within hours!

I was in bed last Monday night and the kids were sleeping in the living room (pretend camp out). They heard our cat outside crying so they opened the door to let her in. Not only was our kitty there, but a huge fat Tom was trying to make friends. I bent down to shoo him away when he attacked me. (that sounds funny, attacked by a cat) he bit me so deep that I was shaking him around by his teeth. I finally got him off and he jumped and got me again. Of course Brayden is freaking out now because I am squirting blood and yelling.

I got the wounds cleaned up as best as I could, got the kids calmed down and went to bed. The next morning I woke up and couldn't use my arm. Fun! I did my hair and make-up (left handed, yep, I was CUTE!) then went to work for office meeting. I must have been loopy at this point because my boss ran me to instacare. 7 shots, oral antibiotics, lortabs, and one deep wound cleansing later, I think I am going to live.

Long story short, I have been deathly ill this week, not working, and have no insurance. It's a good thing ramen is cheap, I think we'll be living on it until I get these bills paid off.

Shamelessly stolen from Aunt Karen's Blog:

If you would like to share a memory of me, post it. I will share one of you and we will see what people remember about us! Have fun. Here are the rules:1. As a comment on my blog, leave a memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember! If you don't have a google ID you can post a comment and click anonymous as your identity -- just make sure to sign your name so I know who you are!2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you.It should be funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you (or if you don't have a blog I will e-mail you my memory!).

Long Time No Post

As usual, life has been crazy.

The kids and I and Dustin spent the weekend up in Pinedale Wy. to see Dad and wander around the Mountain Man rendezvous. While we were there, dad took us to see the Rodeo. Little B is such a tender heart that when the steer wrestling came on he was in tears because he thought the cowboys were hurting the calves. That's my boy! Needless to say, he and I stayed at the motel the next night while Dad, Dust, and Ashley went to the finals. Anyway, it was SO good to get away for the weekend. I need to do it more often.

I just don't ever seem to have enough time!

Where do all the days go?

I've started taking water aerobic classes at the aquatic center and I LOVE them! I invited my boss to go with me yesterday and she was so funny. I had planned on going to the deep water class where you strap floats on to your ankles and work out in the diving well. She wasn't sure if she would like that one so we went to the regular class in chest deep water. All the while she was saying what a great workout it was (she is in fantastic shape, she constantly exercises) until we got to the office later and printed a class schedule. Evidently the class we went to was called "fit for life seniors". She was mortified, all day. I've been teasing her that she shouldn't be upset that she went, rather that they let us in! Regardless, it was a fun class and a great workout. (and some of those seniors could kick my butt!)

On another swimming note, I took the kids to the center for a few hours this weekend, and I am burnt! Seriously, I am beet red and in pain. Why do I burn now when I always used to just tan? It must be what happens when you become a senior, lol.

I'm still alive

But wow, has it been busy! J and C were out of town all last week so I was tied to the office. I got so much done though, so it went quickly.

This Saturday I took the kids to SLC to get Brayden some new glasses (note to all, new puppy and glasses are not a good combo) We got there way before we could get an appointment so we ran down to the gateway. The kids loved it because there was a family festival going on, face painting, live music, give-aways, etc. The coolest part was the professional chalk drawing contest. Wow, those folks are amazing. I wish I had the camera so I could have taken some photos.

Sunday we took the wii out to dad's and played. I think the adults had more fun than the kids!!!

Hopefully it's not too blurry. I struggled with that on this one.

Lazy Saturday!

Not much happening today, so I decided to at least finish one page. Poor B has no scrapbook, so I am going to work on his stuff first. I'm not finding much free boy stuff, so I am making due with what I've found so far.

Woohoo Ashley!

We got a letter in the mail last week that we were invited to an honors night at the middle school. I did some sleuthing and it turns out that Miss Ashley has been on the honor roll all three semesters this year, and was getting an award! Great job sweetheart, I'm so proud of you!!!

A new scrapbook page...

My first actual page. Ashley and I are having so much fun learning this together!

Happy Birthday to me, part 2

Yesterday Les and Ashley planned a bbq at my house to celebrate my birthday. Dad, Dustin, Les, Jody and her kids, and Dustin's girlfriend came and we grilled steaks. Les and Jody brought the rest of the food and Ash got the cake. Dust had given me a fire pit, so we put that together, built a fire, and hung out in the back yard. It was not to hot, and it only rained a few drops...all in all a wonderful day. Thanks guys!

No Title

I can't seem to think of a title this morning, I guess the brain really IS the first thing to go when you get old!

I had a nice birthday, Judith and Carlos got me a bag of oatmeal (I'm starting my food storage) and Judith took me to Hamilton's for lunch, YUM! I got balloons and a card from the office, and a starbucks and a cute picture frame from Jody. Thanks guys! Ash and Les are planning a bbq this weekend, so I get an entire week of celebrating.

I discovered yesterday that I have no patience for people who are not genuine. There is a new agent at the office and she has already shown me that I can't really open up to her. She has a different personality with everyone, and she uses that to play people off each other. Who has the time and energy for that?!?!? Anyway, I hope I am wrong about her, but I sense trouble.

I've downloaded about a zillion digital scrapbook files. I need a quiet weekend where I can just stay in my jammies all day and do nothing but play. I was able to make the thank you card above. I need to find some boyish papers, poor B has nothing!

Happy Birthday to Me!

How can I be 38 already????

My first attempt at digital scrapbooking

Thursday, May 15, 2008

It's amazing...

How much work I can get done when no one else is at the office. I'm all caught up from the two days I was sick, plus I signed up two new agents today. Things are going well!

I'm looking forward to my grandma's 80th birthday party on Saturday. I have the cutest outfits for the kids to wear for their pictures. I hope they turn out, and I hope the kids aren't grumpy that early in the morning. (appointment at 9)

To My Mother

Mom,

It's been a few years now, and I still think of you all the time. I find myself wishing I could pick up the phone and ask you for a recipe, or how to do some task around the house. When Ashley remembers baking pies with you, my heart breaks all over again. When Brayden falls asleep with his stuffy that you made him from build-a-bear, I remember the ache.

I wish that I had told you just one more time how much I love you, and how thankful for you I am. You helped me become independent and capable, even though at times it seems like it's all an act.

Thanks for all that you taught me, and that you continue to teach me. I find myself following your good example daily, from helping the "underdog" whenever I can, to giving the kids extra loves, and so much more.

I miss you!

Calgon, take me away!

Ugh, one house, one puppy, one cat, two sick kids, and I get the flu. Fun times are being had at the Baugh household!

Thank goodness it's Friday!

Another crazy day. As I suspected, I WAS the one who would get all the displays ready for Health Days, and it WAS all done at the last minute. Why am I the only one around who likes to have a plan and follow it??? Oh well, I got it done, and it looks good, if I do say so myself.

Brayden is spending the night with Aunt Penny, so Ashley and I are going to have a girls night. Flannel jammies and fuzzy slippers, here I come!

Aren't they the cutest?!?!!!!
